Three NMR spectrometers are available for daily Walkup reservations at NMR_Calendar:
MR1 and MR3 are located in room 5.342 (5th floor) of NHB; 3M500 is located in room 3.320 (basement) of NHB. They are available 24x7 for short NMR experiments during the day and longer runs overnights or on weekends. They are equiped with 5mm liquids probes with auto-tuning to the common nuclei 15N - 31P as well as 1H, 19F, 13C. These are all single sample walkup instruments, primarily for fast on and off usage with a two-hour maximum pre-signup limit. The pre-signup limit is there to help maintain access to an NMR within two hours at any given time during the day.
Click on a time slot or drag out a selection. An scheduling dialog box will pop up allowing full control of the of the booking's location and times. That being said, if your research has special requirements, contact staff to request a specific block of time.
Notes:
The minimum time slot, 10 min, is usually enough time to collect a proton and quick carbon on sufficiently concentrated samples. If you have more than one sample or need more acquisition time, a maximum time slot of 40 min will provide time for additional samples or measurements.
Overnights beginning at 8pm will provide 12 hours of NMR time which will work very well to give good carbon data on samples that did not have enough signal during the limits of the daily slots.
Sign-up rules are also less restricted over weekends to allow even longer measurement times.
If you have any problems contact Dr Smith for assistance.
Last word: Password protected access to the scheduling calendar is provided once your initial training has been certified.
